Are Dhoni, Yuvi and Veeru the new big three of Indian cricket?

While, the semi finalists of IPL are yet to be decided, it seems like Dhoni, Yuvi and Veeru have outperformed their senior colleagues Sachin, Saurav and Dravid in both batting and captaincy. While all batsmen have scored runs, the runs scored by the youngsters have helped their team win more matches. One of the most heartening things to see is that irrespective of the match situation the youngsters always seem to have a smile on their face (as opposed to brooding seniors) which has a soothing effect on the team players and the supporting public. Also, their batting seems to have improved under the responsibility of captaincy. Over the last decade; Sachin, Saurav and Dravid have taken Indian cricket to great heights with their batting exploits but whenever they captained the team, their batting suffered. While the junior trio doe not have the batting technique to match the big 3, I feel it is their attitude towards the game that makes them ready for the future.

  1. yes they are

  2. i think all are fading fast because of lack of focus.  Veeru is struggling with technique, Yuvi with fitness and Dhoni with high expectations.

  3. i dont think soo dhoni gud but sehwag n yuvraj not sure  yuvraj had a gud coach and a gud team mate like jayawardane i think and a team with some one like shaun marsh can be unpredictable if yuv is a gu dd captan i dont think he will let vrv singh into the team...sehwag as a player gud but captancy to bowl a spinner in a criticl al match and loose it is not best....

According to me no one is there to replace the big three .who have  .SOURAV``s typical offside love and stylish ???hu have master`s style ??hu have dravvid`sss ebility and thinking mind???

  4. lol, Yuvraj and dhoni are struggling a lot in test, yuvraj averages less than 32 in test, where as dhoni averages 33, despite having quite a few not outs. Dhoni has done really bad against pace lead attacks like, australia, south africa, and england. 20-20, is a bit of fun and thats it, you cant draw serious coclusions from it,

Moreover sehwag, is classed as a senior player anyway, and has done very well at the test level, where test is where cricketers are remembered for. Sachin is a absolute legend, and still is indias best player, dravid is a great player, always being compared to teh likes of ponting and kallis, and gamguly is a very good player as well, moreover no other indian captain has had more success than ganguly in test.

  5. Nooooo!

Are u crazy, and by the way yuvi and veeru hv been there for 8 YEARS.

But Sachin Saurav and Dravid are demi gods,u simply CANNOT write them off!!!

    GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!!!

  6. Yes.

  7. Yes, they are the new big names of the Indian Cricket! And this is very good for the Indian Cricket team......

  8. Yuvraj and Dhoni have batted well? Please enlighten me, I must've missed that.

Dravid's been more impressive than Yuvraj in this IPL.

  9. I think they lack temperment, class and more importantly the requirement of their in staying in crease at the right time. When u r comparing with Sachin, Dada, and the Wall with yuvi, Viru, and Dhoni, right now they can't be compared to them because neither of these three has proved anything in Tests which is the real version of the game(exception- Viu's few knocks). Yuvi and Dhoni has to play more tests to make comparison with these  three seniors. And pls don't compare Dhoni to all these mens. He is not at all batsman.

  10. Sorry, to disappont,

Dhoni, Yuvi and Gambhir are the new big three. Lot of arguments will be thrown against my answer and a whole lot of people will criticize me.

But mark my word, these young men will take Indian cricket to #1 in the next three/four yrs.

  11. never ever

  12. yes, they are.

  13. I would add Gambhir to that list.

  14. There remains a lot to be seen. The former big 3-the awesome trio of Sachin, Sourav and Dravid, have stood the test of time, and has proved their worth time and again. Dhoni, Yuvi, and Veeru, are shining, but let's see if they can keep it up over a long period, like the 3 big ones. Also, their technique as a batsman isn't comparable to that of the master blaster, bengal tiger, or the wall.

Anirban s has made a good point, and I agree with him. Veeru has an appreciable record in tests, but not so much for Dhoni and Yuvi. Tests are really the "test" of batting ability, and Yuvi, and Dhoni hasn't qualified yet in that regard. IPL is no issue. the seniors are not used to T20 games, even then all 3 of them played atleast one good innings. Dravid, and Ganguly are having problems because RCB doesn't have typical T20 players, and KKR doesn't have a good batting lineup, but no one can say that Sachin's Mumbai Indians did bad in IPL. Infact, I think that Mumbai has a better chance of entering the semis than Delhi. Anyway,  big 3 still rocks according to me, and Veeru, Yuvi, and Dhoni may not be able to reach their level of perfection.

  15. No ,Youvi is good batsman and a best fielder , veru is a good batsman but dhoni is not

  16. Dhoni,ok,but others r in doubt.

  17. yes the are future of Indian cricket at least for next 5-7 years.

    ---- Master.

  18. yep

  19. yes

  20. Yesteryears big 3 are well out of it. They did India proud but that was then and we all stood up to the man and vigorously waved our national flag. Age has a nasty habit of catching up and it would be terribly sad to see the mighty three being slaughtered by the press. Derisions they do not deserve and if they don't watch out things might even get worse for them. Already Rahul Dravid is under the endorsement  scanner by corporate houses. Dada has been in and out of jail, metaphorically speaking with endorsements declined and renewed. Sachin is Sachin and the darling of India. T20 it transpires is not everyone's cuppa tea. The raucous blood curling screaming and yelling that goes on in the benches, almost reminds one of Christian - Lion syndrome. I do not want to see this happen to Dada, Rahul and Sachin. It will be the saddest day for Indian cricket. The Indian press having nothing nice to say, love to gloat whenever the mighty three fail. I would personally love to see the three musketeers regroup and prove their detractors wrong.

Forget Yuvraj and especially Veru, Gambhir is the man. He is a very calm and cool customer and is never in a panic when the going gets tough. His fielding always sparkle and he has the right temperament to lead. Dhoni frankly is a great captain too so why repair something that is working so well.

  21. i thnk S

  22. Yes they did that especially yuvraj singh he had never been a captain and too young to face team being a captain yesterdays effort was too good!
