In other words, trying to get a deceased relative to leave EVP on a recorder, rather than Ouija board.

  1. I have been in researching and investigations  of of Ouija board and the general since the 1960"S and I nor any of our group of friends have heard to do any of this way.  I if I had to say something I would say far better a seance.

I have been around both as I am in a Paranormal Group and we do NOT use Ouija boards.  There is just to much evil connected with these boards.

You really would do far better with a circle and a candle in the middle and have the recorder running and see what you get.

Good Luck in whatever you do and please be careful!!

  2. I think that the evp sessions are safer.Cause with the evp you can sometimes get direct responses and hear something talking in the background.Sometimes you can hear something that a relative would say. With the Ouija board you can't really know if your in contact with the spirirt of a deceased relative, you could be in the precence of another spirirt that died before your faimly member did.

  3. Hard to say. In a séance you might be in danger of stubbing your toe in the dark or burning yourself on hot candle wax.  With EVPs you also might be in danger of tripping in the dark while wandering around with your recorder. I'd say they are both about even.

  4. EVP causes no damage, it mearly records energy left over, DONT USE A Ouiji board!!!!!! They can summon other spirits or demons,  pull spirits out of the next world, and you can even get possesed, dont even think about medling with it, even most expirenced psycics dont or shouldn't use them, I certainly never would, if a spirit wants to be found it will contact you or somone they can contact you through unless they have moved on, in which case the dead you be left to rest in peace.

  5. I would tend to say yes.

A Ouija board operates on the ability to allow an unseen entity to have control over your motor functions. It is thus allowing direct access to your mind.

EVP uses a voice recorder to see if a response to a question can be obtained. In an "intelligent" haunting, this means that the ghost is able to answer questions.

Be aware that neither has been proved conclusively on a scientific basis, and both require practice in order to obtain results. And, I might add, nobody's proved that any spirits that are actually caught on EVP are dead, aware they're dead, or that they might be living in another area.

But in the end, I'd still give my opinion that spirit boards like the Ouija are generally not a safe thing, because giving something you don't understand the ability to control you isn't really wise.

  6. Considering that when using the planchette, people are the ones actually making it move around the board, why waste your time?

Now, if one were to "bond" with their board by gently touching the board itself, and NOT the planchette, and it spelled out things on it's own, that would be interesting.

For more authentic EVP's, our group always went into abandoned buildings.

That way, no interference from TVs, radios, IPOD's, or anything else.

    Ouija boards are BS.

Just all the superstitious stories behind it make it intriguing.

  7. Quija is safer. And if you talk to Alan Hale, tell him I said "hi".

  8. Yes because in my opinion using a ouija board is like bringing a stranger into your house.NOT SAFE!!!Using the board can bring evil spirits into your house.Using an evp will allow you to speak with them. And you might get some answers!

  9. I agree with LM. It can open doors that you cannot close.

  10. I truly believe that many devices used throughout history to contact the spirit world have been beneficial in some way and life threatening in others. The Ouija board was made  in a deal with the devil,or something that pretended to be safe, but has caused more conflict, than any other board game on the planet.and when your playing" lets contact the spirit " in a seance.......you'd better have some one who is experienced enough to stop any damage that you may cause by opening doors that way too!I have to admit I have used an like using my cassette player for evp...and it works quite well...but with all things be prepared for what you may capture on tape. Its probably the safest choice you can make.what ever you decide on how to talk to the other side....do it with love and respect.an always in the light of you higher power.look at it this way.....what if you where on the other side ,and you popped into say "hi", and you where exiled because they thought you were some nasty thing  that came out of a seance, or Ouija board. make good decision and be safe in you new journey.......Blessed be...........................!

  11. OMG, LMAO at TR!

Well I have thought about this many times being that I am a Christian. I think Ouija Boards and Seances are evil but not EVPs which makes absoultely not a drop of sense if you think about it.

  12. Why is there so much science on this site, and yet, when ever you mention Ouija boards, it turn into "EVIL!!!  DON'T TOUCH IT!!!"Look into the history of the talking board and you will find it was designed for family use, like a game.  No more, no less. At least EVP is scientific.  No one can yet explain where the voices come from on  the recorder.  Any one can do it and any one can actually hear the results.  Is is safer?  Considering no one really knows who or what it is that talks to you, no one knows if it is safe or not.  That is left up to you to judge.

  13. EVP sessions are 100% safer because using an ouija board can cause poltergiests so invade your home and it is not pretty. Ouija boards open portals to h**l.
