  1. Well said blog! Frank I assume you said this with a little tongue in cheek. I really don't hear to much anti British stuff over here, unless it's due to booing our national anthem like in the Mayweather vs Hatton fight. We look at you as allies, but from reading some of the answers here tonight, it sure seems like there are some Britts that have a problem with the US. and it comes out when your fighter is successful against an American. Oh well, I wont speculate as to why. Everyone has an opinion, but don't assume that we hate the Brit's because on a whole, it's not true!

As for the fight, it really went as expected. Hopkins did well early and seemed like Joe took over midway through.

  2. yes maybe you've just cracked it,

as when Mr cortez gets home Mr fugde will appear on yahoo!!

  3. I don't think anyone in America hates the British.  You guys finally got a world class champion, enjoy Joe Calzaghe while you have him.  If you though Floyd Mayweather avoided the top welterweights, watch how long it takes Joe to get into the ring with Kelly Pavlik.  After Pavlik sends Lockett, the other Welshman back to Britain without a title in the next middleweight championship, Warren will most likely duck Pavlik and keep that ocean between Joe and the kid from Youngstown for years.

Seriously, Frank you guys are on the brink of having two Welsh world champions if Lockett can pull off the upset.  This must be huge across the pond, and even though your guy is an underdog, one punch can change any fight, he can get lucky and KO Pavlik, Taylor put Pavlik down, so it can be done.  I can only guess what would happen if Lockett pulled it off, you guys might start calling the U.S.A. part of the United Kingdom again, it would be the biggest thing in the U.K. since the Falklands.

You taking a jab at Elmer Fuddstein is out of character, he is as respected as you at the Yahoo site.  Fudd stuck up for Joe more than most when Hopkins insulted Calzaghe a few weeks ago, and Cortez is a fair ref, he didn't even take a point from Joe even when Hopkins was bent over in the 10th grimacing in pain with Joe dancing behind him like....well you get the picture.  The Calzaghe/Hopkins fight was filled with fouls, Hopkins led with his head most of the night, grabbed and held shamelessly, and Joe landed low at least 3 or 4 times before he bent Bernard over in the 10th and took his manhood away in front over the whole world.  The fight was pretty much as expected, Calzaghe was supposed to out work Hopkins, and he did, leave it at that.

When Pavlik KO's Lockett in a few weeks, the tables will turn, and if Lockett shocks the world, we over hear in America will tip our hats to the Welsh because you guys will be as surprised as we are, nobody thinks he can beat Pavlik.  Joe beat an old man, he has to take on somebody in top form, guys like Roy Jones or Winky Wright are old as well, and as soon as Joe is done cashing in on a couple of money fights, he will eventually have to face Pavlik.  Then, if Joe beats the kid from Youngstown, you guys on that little group of Islands will have something to brag about.

No, Elmer and Cortez are not the same person, and neither of them hate Brits or anyone else for that matter.
