  1. In general, great theaters have only dubbed version (VF) of movies because of commercial views (French are often bad in foreign language). If you want to see original versions (VO) of movies, most of "Cinéma d'Art et Essai" (=Art Class Theaters) which are little theaters downtown propose both VO and VF (check it before paying for the movie). I'm not sure that Harry Potter will be projected in art class theater, it's more commercial movie, but maybe.

  2. both

  3. If you are in a big city (like Paris, Lyon...), you will be able to see it subtitled (in few theatres only). but if you stay in a little town, it is more likely to be only dubbed. Enjoy your film!

  4. On Champs-Elyseés, foreign movies are in the original language. So if you want to see Harry Poter, it will be in english

  5. uh yea

  6. Most of the time they are dubbed into French.  But if you look carefully you can find a small art theater where they will show the films in their original language.

  7. All movies are dubbed or with subtitles. You will be able to see Harry Potter in it's original form in Paris (with annoying substitles that you soon learn to ignore). The Gaumont Theatres on the Champs Elysees is your best bet.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind regards, Wendy

  8. You can have both.

All the biggest cinemas in Paris have films in original version with french subtitles.

In the other towns you can find an "art et essai" cinema with films in original version. But you will not find Harry Potter in those cinemas!!

  9. You can find both in great town, especially in Paris.

Check if it's V.O. (version originale), it's in english, with french subtitles !

  10. It depends on the movie. Most of the time, movies that are predominantly for children are dubbed because a child will not sit and read subtitles. I am sure, however, that there will be an English language showing of Harry Potter somewhere. When you look up the movie theatre on the internet or on their sign, look for "VO" for 'original version'. That one will be in English.

  11. Tell me where you will be, i promise i'll find you a cinema which is clever enough to program only subtitled movies.

I can give you a french website, but if you don't speak french, it may be hard for you to naviguate on this : www.allocine.fr
