Hi! I wouldn't call them trendy but classic. Trendy names are more modern to fit with the times such as brogan , Logan, Aidan, Brayden such as that. They are nice names though! I would prefer Elijah because Ethan is too poular now ranking on the top 10 list of boys names so chances are your child will grow up with many little Ethans! I prefer more unique names! Good luck!

I think Ethan is a little too common for me. I just know lots of kids with that name. I love Elijah Matthew. Elijah Thomas is cute too. Good Luck!

Yes, Ethan is very trendy.  It made a huge jump from #262 to #87 between 1988 and 1989, and it has risen steadily ever since.  It was #3 last year.

Elijah is popular as well, although not nearly as popular as Ethan.  It was #30 last year.

Elijah is rated 30th on the SSI and Ethan is number 3. They are both becoming common and Elijah will likely move up farther in these next few years. There's been a resurgence of Biblical names as well as "aiden" type names. So yes, both are trendy.

I like both names though they both have very common middle names.

Ummmmm well Im thirteen (in school) and I think the names that I like most and that are considered trendy are probably ethan and matthew (especially if shortened to matt ;) )

Yes, I consider both of them trendy. I think Elijah might be less trendy than Ethan, I've seen Ethan used a lot. Despite being really trendy, I like them. They are certainly better than Aiden, Jayden, etc.

Ethan might be a bit trendy but that's the only one. I love both of these names.

I don't really think so. I think the world is stuck on Aiden, Jayden, Liam, Brayden, Caden, etc right now.

I wouldn't say they are 'trendy' because they have origin, and aren't made up. They are both just very popular names.

I like Ethan Thomas better - Evan, and Ian are also nice they are a little less popular.
