  1. The F-22 was designed to replace the F-15.  The F-15s that are replaced that still have some service life will go to the Air National Guard.

  5. No. The F-16s are going to stay in service for a while... The F-22 Raptor is just a new multi-role stealth fighter that the United States Air Force is using. This will not take over the F/A-18 (hornet and super hornet), the F-16, the F-15, A-10, or any other military aircraft.

  6. No, absolutely not.  F22's are the eventual replacement for F15C/D models.  However F15E's will be around for some time to come.

    The F35 is the F16's eventual replacement; not just in the US but also in NATO.  The USN/USMC/RAAF/RN versions will replace F18s and AV8s.
