Are Farmers going to make any money this year if it doesn't stop raining ?

I mean, here in Ireland we've had more rain than ever before, the crops are being pounded into the ground by it, the fields are muddy and the cows are miserable. Will any farmers make money?

They usually do and if their market is poor the governmant will make up the shortfall for them

Lets think about what you have just asked......

I don't think so with the ammount of Car boot sales they do, add to that the government subsidies they get by the bucket load and more grants than you can shake a stick at, so that they don't grow crops

And to top it all they get cheap fuel.

Yes you're right. If it carries on like this farmers will suffer severe income losses.

I have some friends in Epping their crops are being pounded as well, it is going to be a very lean year if the weather doesn't improve.
