filipinos are the mexicans of asia?  first time i ever heard of that connotation ever.  we were referrred to as the brown americans.  i would rather call filipinos as asian pacific islanders.

Some people think that filipinos are the mexicans of Asia because they look like mexicans. But its not true. Filipinos are the mexicans of Asia because they go to Canada or USA to work in s**t jobs. They prefer working in s**t job in Canada than living in Filipinas. They don't have a good reputation, people see filipinos like poor ugly people. Its is sad but is true. And it also because Filipinas dont have power in the would. You don't see filipinos winning medals in olympic games, in the would cup or another famous competition. Filipinas don't make cars, computers, dont have good economy. So nobody takes filipinos seriously.

I don't think so. The modern Filipinos living in the Philippines has a mixed blood of different races like American, MExican, Indian, Chinese, Korean and etc. So I think it is not  only a mexican of Asia but a whole new world with different races with the same tongue..thats it!

O.K. people... First, I am a Filipino, or Pinoy. What's with this "Mexicans of Asia" thing? Why are people comparing two different races? And first of all why is it, Filipinos ARE Mexicans of Asia? Why can't it be the mexicans ARE Filipinos of America, oh that's right Filipino's immigrate to America legally. And I don't think its necessary to compare two races together, such as the whole Black/ Filipino thing, both races have different cultures. And why is it always put that Filipinos are like other RACES?!?! If u analyze that history of both America and Philippines its quite similar, both countries fought for independence. And you don't hear Filipinos calling the U.S the "Filipinos of North America" Now do u? Even though U.S. became a Nation first, Just like THE Philippines and mexico.

Before I came to Canada to study english I didn't know anything about filipinos, but when I arrived here in Canada I notices thar filipinos are the mexicans of Asia. Its because they go to others country to do s**t jobs, like mexicans do going to USA. They leave their country because the life there is very s**t and they don't have jobs there. They cannot improve theis country, so they have to looking for a better country to try to live like people
