Question:

Are Flies Attracted To Halogen?

I keep my house clean, but their is a tree in the street outside, so there are a few flies outside. Whenever I open my window, a couple of flies come in and they seem to circle my halogen light fitting even when it is not switched on. They don't go anywhere else in the house. This made me wonder if they are attracted to the halogen gas,

  1. The lamp should be sealed, so the halogen should not attract them directly. Maybe it radiates in a colour humans can't see, in which case it is possible. But if the halogen lamp is faulty and leaks, replace it, because halogens are not healthy to breathe in.
