now i may be wrong,but i believe the Celts mostly lived in Ireland and s.Scotland.and the Pict's inhabited England the Romans invaded the islands,settled and brought so called civilization so if you are a Britt. ya probable a haze 57. as for who the French descended from,who knows,the twilight zone maybe?

Some French are (especially in the North), some Brits are but not the majority. Many Irish and Scottish are. Very few Germans are.

The Germanic people are not derived from the Celts or Picts.

The Germans are a seperate 'ethnic' group from Celt or Pict.

The Irish are of Celtic (pronounced Kel-tick) descent while the Scots are of Pictish descent.

Way back when, France, Scotland and either part, or all, of Britain were one country called 'Gaul'. I'm not sure about Ireland. But, the Irish, Scottish, English and a little French consider themselves Celtic descendants. Part of France (Brittany) really consider themselves, not only Celtic descendants, but part of Britain (hence their name) but I've never heard of Germany being part of it. I'm not sure where they came from. The Norse maybe? But, the vikings were Norse and invaded parts of the UK frequently but I've never heard of Germans claiming Celtic ancestry.

Britain has been invaded by so many people that they are a mixture.

England was invaded several times by the Romans, they were invaded by the Vikings and by the French, by the Danes... I think you will find a good mix of people in the UK.

The original celtic-speakers were round-headed mongoloid people from

southern Germany. From there, they migrated northwest into France and

the british isles, in which they hybridized with the local population and

passed their language on to the indigenous people.

Then the romans came and converted France (what was then called

Gual) into speaking latin, which later became the modern french

language.

The original germanic-speakers derive from southernmost Sweden.

From there, they spread southward through Germany. They converted

the original celtic-speakers of southern Germany into speaking german,

which is what they speak today.

The germanic-speakers then moved west across nothern France (as

the franks, from which France gets it's name), but the germanic language

of the franks was eventually replaced with the local latin language (french).

So, the northern french have much germanic ancestry.

The germanic-speakers also migrated northwest by sea (as the

anglo-saxons, from which england gets it's name) to England, which

they invaded. They hybridized with the local celtic-speakers.

Actually, some Brits are descendants from German tribes.  My family supposedly comes from the Jute tribe.  The French...they have a little Spanish and Roman in them..The Celts, well, I'm not sure where they came from, per se.  I think they were teleported from another plantet.  Really I'm kidding.  The French, Brits, and Celts are a large mix of a lot.

The answer to your question is yes and no.  

According to several websites, "the Romans identified the Teutone as a Germanic tribe, and therefore Roman writers began to use the term Teutonicus as a synonym for their existing word for Germanic peoples, Germanicus."

But there are others who believe that Germans are celtic and that the word teutone comes from the Celtic word tuath meaning "the tribe."

The Celts are just one of the tribes that inhabited the British Isles.  They were probably germanic in origin.  The British/Irish people are an interesting mix as the Isles were invaded and conqured quite regularly up until 1066 and I believe that there were still Viking raids after that.
