Unless you are an experienced investor, I would caution against individual stocks and get rich quick schemes. Reduce your risk and

check out Vanguard ( http://www.vanguard.com )

Now is an excellent time to put your money to work. Spread the risk by investing in a mutual fund (Vanguard's STAR is a fund of funds-a fund which buys shares in other funds-and therefore carries a lower risk) . It is comprised of 65% stocks and 35% bonds.

Make sure any high interest loans/credit cards are paid off and you have 2-3 months emergency cash before investing.

Vanguard is a low cost, no load mutual fund company. There are others; I have been with them for 30 years and retired early. Your results may vary.

If you want my opinion, and if you were not short these stocks, just stay away from them until a CLEAR bottom is hit. These stocks were brought down because of subprime mortgage. The subprime is still bleeding, and probably the pain will spread to other prime and commercial RE ... Personaly, I would not be surprised to see additional 25% drop before the year end. Moreover, future prospects on how these firms will generate further profit may be in jeopardy for the next few quarters.

That if you are an investor (i.e. investing for long-term) I think it is clearly not time for bottom fishing. Otherwise, if you are speculating, then maybe you can ride few ups and downs depending on the news (more writedowns, raising capital ...) although, if you are not familiar and very confident, this is very risky affair.

In all cases, this is just my personal opinion, try to build yours before making a decision.
