Question:

Are GPA's calculated by semester or yearly grades??

plus if they are calculated by semester does that mean if i got an A both semesters in an ap class then it would be two 5's added to my calculation instead of two 4's??

  1. It depends on the course, credit, and if any weight is given. Once the course ends the gpa is calculated as follows (grade*credit)/(total credits) but if there is a weighting fact then (grade*credit*weight)/(total credit*total weight)


  2. I believe GPA's are counted by semester in a College setting. If you are taking an AP class however.. Just  your average for the year for that single class will count. It would be the equivalent of taking one college class. Also AP classes only count if you get a 3 or above on the test at the end of the year. Depending on your score it reflects the grade you will receive. A 3 is a C, 4 a B and a 5 an A. Hope this helps! aside
