Are GPS navigators big in the US?

Here in Italy people buy them like cell phones...everyone's got to have one.

I love seeing people driving around roundabouts over and over with a satnav in the car...I must be old school, I just follow road signs!

  1. Not here in Orlando, people have them but they're not as common as cell phones.

  2. Some people have them.  But they are not ubiquitous.  I personally think they are quite annoying and distracting, especially the talking ones.

  3. We have one, primarily because my wife drives to remote parts of our state to meet with state and county employees and the GPS is invaluable when she's in the middle of nowhere.  I can see where roundabouts would pose problems for a GPS, because the turns come up too quickly.  I use it in conjunction with road maps and street signs when I drive, because I don't like to put too much faith in the software, though it hasn't steered me wrong yet.
