Question:

Are Gamecube games compatible with the Wii?

I want to try Harvest Moon: Magical Melodies, but I don't have a Gamecube. I do however have a Wii, so I was wondering if I could play it on that. And if I could play it on that, would I have to get a Gamecube controller? Any other special information I would need to get it to play without any mishaps?

  1. yes, just put the gamecube game in the wii and you have play with gamecube cintrollers tho.

Open up the top of the wii there are 4 controller slots and 2 memory card slots.

And thats a greattttt game !

  2. ya

  3. It will play most gamecube games the reason why i say most is because i bought boulders gate: Dark Alliance and it would not work. and yes you will need a gamecube controller. oh yeah and also if you wanna save you have to have a gamecube memory card.

  4. Yes, yes you can :)

  5. Its mostly compatible.

The gamecube does not offer emulation of the memory card though....so you have to use REAL gamecube memory cards.

  6. yes every gamecube game is compatible with the wii but you will need a gamecube controler to play them and a gamecube memory card to save your progress

  7. The Wii is fully capable of playing Gamecube games.

On the top of the system, there are two flaps, which hide ports for Gamecube controllers and Gamecube Memory Cards.

You have to use a Gamecube controller, and must save (if you want) on a Gamecube Memory Card, not the Wii's hard drive.

  8. Yes, they are. All you have to do is insert the Gamecube game disc into the disc drive of the Wii and plug your Gamecube controller into the sockets provided behind the large white door of the top/side of the Wii console.

  9. yes, in the game channel, they show 2 discs, 1 says Wii and the other says game cube, whichever you put in will spin and go down into the screen
