  1. I prefer sweet and sour hamster

  2. I have two gerbils, they are cute, but you cant really play with them. They start off really shy, but can grow to like you! They like to dig so if you do get some get a fish tank full of soil. They are good if you like to look at them or hand feed them, rather than play with them! Mine have never bitten.

  3. i like em on toast,baby!

  4. gerbils bite if they arnt treated properly but other than that no i have had 3 pairs of gerbils in the past and they are great pets i loved em degus are much less tame and more hyper if a degu escapes dont think you'll ever see it again and they are much harder to tame so for a rodent pet i would go for gerbils or guinea pigs

  5. they r good

  6. Gerbils are great, but when you talk about plural animals, please make sure they are the same s*x... i got 2, both supposed to be male. 3 months later i had 18 of them, the Gerbils having 2 litters in very quick succession!  Fortunately i found homes for all but 5, and have them seperated so no more babies :-) They do bite sometimes, not so much painful ones but just a nip, when they feel threatened or stressed. I would highly recommend them, they are great pets!!!

  7. Maybe you should ask Richard Gere.....

  8. It depends on whether they're the pet for you or not. I, personally love gerbils. My two girls are absolutely wonderful, and I wouldn't trade them in for any other pet. They're so cute, energetic, awake throughout the day and night, loving to each other, and rarely bite. They're easy and inexpensive to care for.

Like any animal, they can be taught not to bite. Keep in mind that fearful animals are likely to bite. Degus are a bit different than mongolian gerbils that you get from the pet store. They require a little different care and more room in their cage.

With any pet, research is a must BEFORE getting it. I never recommend impulse buys, so please spend the time researching on the pet you're interested before going out to get it. If you'd like more information on gerbils, feel free to e-mail me. I'd be glad to help answer any questions you may have.

  9. My niece and nephew have one and it is a demon gerbil.  They got it when it was young and they are young, way to fast for them and for their folks.  Yes they will bite!!

They had hamsters in the past and got along way better with them.  The gerbil is entertaining to watch, but has eaten anything plastic that has been put in his cage, including several plastic parts of his cage.  Yes he has chew sticks, but seems to have a taste for plastic.

For my money I would go with a hamster, I had them as a kid and loved them all.

  10. No. They are c**p.

    They are smelly and boring.

  11. Gerbils are amazing pets and are generally very loyal inquisitive and play full, with the right care and treatment they make superb pets!

They don't tend to bite as such but they can sometimes nip but they only do that if your handling them in the wrong way, ie picking them up by the tail, or squeezing them whilst petting.

Degas are preferred by many, but I personally like Gerbils much more, but if those are your two options I'd be going for the Gerbils.

Good luck with your new pets! If you have any questions about them feel free to e-mail me =]

  12. It really depends on what you're looking for in a pet.

I had three pairs of gerbils in the past, and they were fairly cute and friendly.  If they're tame and treated well, they don't bite, but they can if they're suddenly scared or you squeeze them too hard/hurt them.  As people have said, they're quite cute, fun to watch, and can grow comfortable with you such that you can hold them and feed them, but generally are very active and not going to cuddle with you while you watch tv.  Also, they are nocturnal, so there will be a lot of scuffling/chewing at night.

You should consider what you want in a pet, and research different small animals to see what fits you best.  There are so many different pets with different personalities!

  13. they are loud noisy and boring. trust me. try a ferret.

  14. I had a gerbil but she was really fast in almost impossible to catch.

I now have a Hamster and she is much more tame.

I suggest getting a Hamster. They are more friendly.

  15. Good if you own a pet Python
