Are Germany's famed Christmas markets open in November?

Also, I'm wondering if anyone knows when the town of Rothenburg puts up its Christmas tree. We're considering a trip to Germany in early or mid-November.

  1. The Christmas markets all coincide with Advent.


  2. The Majority will be open this Year from December 3rd, 1 Advent through 23rd of December

  3. The Christmas markets will be opening so Nov. 27. In Germany is the Christmas on 24. so 4 Sundays before (they are counting 1 until 4 Advent) right before the Markets opening.

  4. Berlin's Chrismas market is supposed to be opened from the mid of november on. Greetings from Düsseldorf, Germany - forget about the Leipzig Christmas market (the one Fabian mentioned). Leipzig is in the ugly eastern part of Germany (former communist part) and you won't really like it.
