Yes, they are. But don't judge them because of stupid Hollywood movies. Ghosts are really just spirits like you and I but they just don't have their physical body anymore- meaning that they have passed away. They are trapped in Pergatory, and will remain there until they fulfill the reason why they are on earth. I don't think there's much of a reason to be afraid- unless their intentions are nasty. Just try to get them out of your house by asking for help from some kind of physcic, or maybe even someone spiritual.
