  1. I believe that there is definitely a higher power; but there is very little that us mere humans can know of He/She/It/Them.  Every culture has their own idea of religion and God or gods; but they differ somewhat. However, nearly all religions emphasize to love God, love your neighbor, and love yourself; and that's a good place to start.

  2. Gods and Goddesses are human archetypes which are given an immortal theme. They act as a vehicle of worship or focus to a higher or subconscious source.

Its a case of all roads lead to Rome, esoterically speaking.

  3. Myth and delusion are not synonyms.  The various gods and goddesses depicted in myth are symbolic of the human condition both temporally and spiritually.  Studying the myths provides insight not only into the cultures whose impact shaped the world today (Greece, Egypt, etc) but also into ourselves.

  4. There is quite a difference between Myth and Delusion. Myth is Real in our minds, and has very real and useful lessons to teach us. Delusion is harmful to our selves.

  5. Gods and Goddesses actually were male giants and female giants sons and daughters of the gods. Many ancients worshiped them out of fear but some worshiped them because of their appearance and advanced levels of wisdom and their technology which they gave and taught the ancients how to make. All this happened before the deluge of 12,000 BC. After that they all were destroyed by the master serpents (aka master gods Yahweh, Enki, Enlil etc). The reason was because they became corrupt in their teachings and ways with man.

  6. I think gods/goddesses both can and cannot be considered myth. Sure Zeus and all the pantheon of gods were alive back then simply because we created them and made them come to life. I prefer to think about the episode of South Park about "Imagination Land". We created these things in our imagination to explain real life occurrences and they came to life. Because so many people believed in them, the concept of the god holds power in the world, which is why praying is so powerful in many cultures and can be responsible for miracles. Through belief we create energy in the world. I believe that the concept of a god or goddess is still very primitive and the real power that holds the universe together is still a concept to vast for us to imagine.

  7. Depending on your "universe view", some would argue that even while Gods/Godesses possibly were not originally part of the universe...by their own need for an explanation for both joys and ills around them, that mankind WILLED them into being. This concept, known as a "Tulpa", is held in some Buddhist circles and may very well explain such deities...should they exist.

That or we are a petry-dish experiment on some mucas-covered,  extraterrestrial scientist's desk and the Gods/Goddesses were the controls introduced to gauge reaction. Hope he/she/it wins...we are FASCINATING.

  8. Because people are too feeble minded and self important to accept the reality of life .. and death.

Easier to believe in fairies ...
