In my personal experience both dogs are great with kids, and neither have any problems with cats.

Typically a golden with a good temperament will be good with both cats and kids.  That said, never set a new dog loose on a cat without them first meeting, greeting, and adjusting (and that should always be the cat's call).  No dog should never be left unattended with young children.  No dog is child proof or bite proof.

You can always look at a Goldendoodle.  It's a cross between a standard poodle and a golden retriever.  They are bright, intelligent, playful, active, and they typically shed less.  Please do not plan to breed two dogs without doing your homework though.  Even dog crosses should be full health clearances (OFA, blood, eyes...) and temperament tested before breeding.

What needs to be said here is all dogs can be good with kids it all depends on how they are raised same as are own children if you treat it with contempt they will treat you the same way.
