  1. If you want to get down to the nitty gritty, we are all descended from African ancestors. Africa is where human life began, and we spread out from there.

So, sure, you may have some African ancestry.

  2. macedonia..macedonia..macedonia..

  3. I can see the connection based on its geographical location

  4. The biological anthropologist within me acknowledges that there isn't much evidence to back up such a claim. It's not hugely likely that they intermixed.

But the cultural anthropologist within me gives a sly wink, because he knows where Greek was in proximity to Ethiopia, and he knows that if there's two things that geographic neighbors like to do, it's have wars and get busy.

Of course, calling them full Europeans in the first place is a bit of a stretch. And I'd eschew the term mulatto, if you could. It's not a very nice word to use, besides being a wildy inaccurate term.

  5. Although no race is pure there is no evidence to suggest this.

Greeks, Italians and Turks  are susceptible to thalassemia, which is almost identical to sickle cell .

You have to remember that in that part of the world people were invading and enslaving each other for thousands of years so there are no pure races any longer .

Alexander the Great invaded Persia and there was a lot of mixing with Persians so the Greeks are more likely to have Persian DNA than African .

If you look at history you'll be amazed how much " mixing" there was , be proud of you are , we all have mixed blood .

  6. Some of the testing today is pricey. But I am very interested in knowing my heritage like you. I have family on one side that emmigrated from Yugoslavia & I li\ook @ them & see the bone structure ( cheek bones, lips, orbits of our eyes ) of Turkish peoples. Geographicly is feasible that may be. I would love for you to have genetic testing. But even if your GNA comes that you are decended from green men from Pluto- I still love ya the same. Be proud. Greek heritage is beauty. They were the smartest heritage known to man.

  7. You are confusing race and geographic origin.

  8. Have your DNA tested, if you want to be sure!

  9. While its possible some Greeks might be descended from African slaves the ancient Greeks did not mix with "ethiopians" ! Many Mediterranean as well as African people are prone to sickle cell anemia. It doesnt always mean you have African ancestry.

Mulattos are people who had one african and one european parent!

  10. yes im mixed race/mulatto and constantly get called greek.

  11. greeks are from chicken eggs

  12. The recent genetic researches show that Greeks are mostly Europeans. However many of them don't look like Europeans especially those in the South and the islands. In the North most of them are with white skin and some of them with light hair and eyes - Slavic heritage. Although they deny it.

  13. that is very good question Greeks are mixed with Ethiopians

but not with the all Ethiopians i mean if you know that the northern part of Ethiopians are not really black they are semitic

ancient Greeks are only mixed with north Ethiopian people

because they have the same religion (orthodox).and also

you have a big lips is not an example of Ethiopian.Ethiopians

does not have a big lip that's why they are different from Africa.

  14. Mulatto is not PC. It is a Trans Atlantic Slavery term, used to describe a child of European and African ancestry, mulatto comes from the word mule, as in a horse+ a donkey.  SO I wouldn't say mulatto.  Not to lecture, but it's not a good word to use.

But to answer your question, this is what I think, if Greek people are some how mixed with Ethiopians it is not because of a slave trade with Ethiopia. I am of Ethiopian descent, and I know Ethiopian history extremely well. Ethiopia never sold slaves like countries in West and Southern Africa---seeing as how Ethiopians are African-Semites and if you read the Old Testament of the Bible (and all those books about religious rules---Ethiopians were forbidden to sell their own into slavery, and looked down on it. That is why to this day, Ethiopians look down on cultures that participated in the slave trade be it the Trans Atlantic slave trade or the ancient slave trades between West Africans and Arabs, West Africans and Greeks, or West Africans and Romans, etc.  I'll cite some sources for you too. Not many people know about Ethiopian history , alot of it is heresay

As for Ethiopians being Caucasian, that is not true. Semite means Semite, not Caucasian.

I am giving recent, not old articles.  And a video from You tube is attached to my answer. I did not make the video but found it on accident, I hope it answers your question.

  15. Not really, it's one of those things you see in Afrocentrist literature that's not true. African Y chromosomes and mitochondrial DNA are found at less than 0.1% in Greece. There's a Y chromosome E3b that's claimed as evidence of Africans, but it's actually got no racial connotations to it, it's from the spread of the first stone age farmers from the middle East into Europe. The variant of sickle cell Greeks posses is a seperate mutation from the West African one, from convergent evoloution. There are many versions of sickle cell that popped up independantly of each other as a response to malaria.

Ethiopians  have a lot of Caucasian in them though. I've got about five DNA studies stored on my blog that put them down at about 40% Arab DNA. Boy does putting that in print annoy people for some reason.
