be built? I have been in some new houses lately,,,and man..

  1. The quality of insulation has improved soundproofing, as well as dual and triple pane windows. But, many houses 30 years old or older were framed with a 6 inch wall, now the majority (excepting split level or 2/3 story homes) are built with a 4 inch wall. Another thing missing is the old wood siding, which was a great sound dampener, stucco or vinyl siding do nothing in comparison to wood.  


  2. some are better ,some worse.

    I have the most earthquake sensitive house I know of . It feels large earthquakes on the other side of the world  

  3. haha tell me about it. my house is like that. build about 5 years ago.... everything is getting cheaper nowadays.... look at the difference between a car from the 70's (all were built like tanks) and most of todays cars.... cheap sheetmetal....
