Are IPL ICONS non performing Captains?

Yes, it's true the performance of most of the iconic players including Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly, and even Yuvraj hasn't come upto the level of expectations of the Indian fans. Sehwag was the only one who stood out from the rest by his brilliant 94, and has also recieved a man of the match award unlike the others. Perhaps if the Little Master played, he too would have been much better than the others, but unfortunately, he hasn't been able to play a single IPL match yet, and much to the disappointment of his fans. Yuvraj has pehaps done a bit better than the seniors.

But then it isn't only the Indian Iconic players who are to be blamed. Some  of the most famous  foreign players like Jaysurya and Ponting failed to perform either, though others like Hayden, Gilchrist, and Sangakara did a brilliant job. But overall, I think that the senior players should have kept themselves out of this commercial tournament in the from of IPL. They are not the ones, who are cut out for T20 games, which requires youth and fitness. Since they haven't, the result is that they are now being called "non performing captains".

So far its only the foreign players that are performing with bits and pieces of some local indian players.It may well be that by the end of the tournament which was designed to help the indians benefits the foreign players

obviously excluding tendulkar (i think its hard to critize a blokes performance when he hasnt played yet), Yuvraji (who at his age and considering his international record) shouldnt be an "icon" yet anyway, he hasnt earned it whereas the other have (they guy only has a couple of 100's in both international forms of the game, the only thing hes done was the 6 6's) and he has underperformed so far, he has performed better then Dravid and Laxman (tho both played ok in there last game) but i think thats to be expected as this format would never suit them

ganguly has definately under performed (but in his mind being there is probaby enough!) sehwag is probably the best one so far considering personal performance and results

10 more games and hope the Master Blaster Tendulkar does justice to the status.

Yes. it is either the non-Indians, or the youngsters like Nayar, who are performing. Good for them.
