Are Indian Universities as good as European ?

I work for an organisation that has recently outsourced a large number of IT jobs to India. IM led to believe that the Indian employees are all recently graduated from university. Given the low quality of work produced by the outsourced employees IM wondering what the equivalence is between a EU graduate and an INdian one?

I think i can say absolutely Yes! for your question of whether Indian universities are good enough as compared to European. Actually, i did my bachelor from an Indian university and Masters from UK university. The only difference that i felt and saw is, in India, it's more of theory and exams whereas, in UK, it's more of practicals and assignments.

And if you are talking about the IT facilities, i am sure even if it is not better, it wont be worse.

There universities are equal to the european ones.

However, note that the term "university" is not the same in whole Europe. So let me rephrase: a 4 year education (bachelor+master) received when your 18-22 year old in Europe is as good as the same education received in India.

BTW, ICT people tends to get better when they have a few years real life experience.
