Are Iniesta, Fabregas and Xavi compatible? (Part 1)
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 have signed an extraordinary midfielder in the shape of Cesc Fabregas. However, many have pointed fingers at the Catalan Giants over the fact that the Spaniard might just be a bench warmer.
There is no doubt that Barcelona currently have one of the best midfields, not only in the world but maybe in the history of the game. With the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta, there are only a few teams who even come close to
keeping the ball for a long time against these three.
Now Barcelona have a replacement for each and every player in the midfield. Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez can be replaced by Cesssc Fabregas and the young http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Mascherano-c18071
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Keita-c33177.
With such a rich midfield, Barcelona are definitely proving that they are one of the best sides in the world. However, a question comes to mind whether spending so much money on a “bench warmer” is worth it?
Many believe that Cesc Fabregas and Xavi Hernandez are not compatible. They both are considered to have the same style of play. But, many forget the fact that when Andres Iniesta was about to join the Barcelona first team, most of the critics thought that
he will not be able to play alongside Xavi Hernandez. However, it actually turned out to be the opposite.
The two are simply superb when they play together. They have a good chemistry and both of them can move the ball around perfectly and aid the strikers so they can score goals.
When Xavi Hernandez was asked whether Fabregas is going to replace him, he said:
“I don't see new players as a threat; I don't say ‘this is my patch.’ I'm more: ‘bring them here, let them play.’ The more talent in the middle, the better. Four or five years ago [people said] me and Iniesta couldn't play together. We can't play together?
Look how that one turned out.”
Now, can Fabregas, Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez be on the pitch at the same time? If Josep Guardiola wants to, they will definitely feature together.
Andres Iniesta has the ability to move forward and aid the strikers from the left flank. On the other hand, Xavi Hernandez stays behind and helps to pull the strings of the game. Cesc Fabregas is generally a different player from Xavi Hernandez. The former
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 skipper is more attack minded compared to Xavi.
Josep Guardiola has taken one bad decision in terms of transferring players – when he swapped Samuel Eto’o with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029. Despite that mistake, the Catalan coach still managed to win the Spanish La Liga. Therefore, there is no doubt that Guardiola’s
tactics are simply superb and he can play anyone he wants to.
What Josep Guardiola has to do now is to find a way to play all these three extraordinary players in the same team. All these three players are different from each other and there is no doubt about it.
