Iranian people are a branch of the Indo-European people, the term Iran is derived from Arya which is a Persian/Sanskrit word ,Persians belong to the western branch of Iranian or Indo-Iranian people, Indo-Iranian people include those natives of the greater Persian / Iranian plateau who speak Indo-Iranian languages ,like Persians,Kurds,Armenians etc.
but today the term "Iranian" is used more as a nationality since there are also Turkic and Arabic people living in the Iranian /Persian plateau and they have adopted the term "Iranian" as their nationality (like the Azerbaijani Turks who belong to the Turkic group ).
but when referring to the Persians we are referring to the native Aryan or Indo-European inhabitants of Iran .The Persians belong to the Indo-European people and so does their language ,they are considered as white people but not Nordic (Scandinavian) if thats what you mean by "white"
people have different features due to different geographic and climatic conditions, for example Persians in Tehran might have lighter skin color then Persians in Bushehr but they are from same origin.
many people may have blonde features but not belong to the Indo-European (Aryan) race ,and on the other hand many people may have darker features but carry the Indo-Iranian (Aryan) gene.
The Haplogroup R1 is a Y-chromosome DNA haplogroup, a subgroup of haplogroup R, associated with the M173 mutation. It is dominated in practice by two very common Eurasian clades, R1a and R1b, which together are found all over Eurasia except in Southeast Asia and East Asia.
The R1a is considered to be the Indo-iranian (Aryan) gene ,inside Iran the Ra1 haplogroup is carried mainly among the Persians ,mainly in central and eastern parts of the country ,while the western parts only carry % the reason that the western parts are less influenced by this gene is because we have 3 major Azeri inhabited regions in west and the Ra1 is very low among the Azerbaijanis its as low as 7% ,and this nr even decreases when we include it with all of Irans population .Azerbaijanis are about 18-20 mil so despite having many Persian provinces in west the Azeri population has lowered the precentage of the Ra1 gene in the western parts of Iran .but the Persians in western and central parts as well as the northern highlands (Gilan and Mazandaran) carry 34-38% Ra1,and thats considered as high Persians make about 51 -56% of Irans population ,in countries like Italyand Greece the Ra1 is as low as 10-20 %.
what i found very strange is that the Azeris in Iran carry a very high precentage of the J2 haplogroup which is known as the Arabic gene the J2 is carried at the highest around lake Urmia ,its even higher then 30% ,the influence of J2 in Iran is about 30% and the Azeris are the most carriers .in countries like Italy and Greece the J2 is as high as 30-48 % also half of the Turkish population in Anatolia carry the J2 ,but the highest precentage is found among the Georgians 72%
also about the Persian language Parsi which sometimes is called Farsi is the direct descendant of the Persian language spoken by the Achaemenians (Avestan) ,later it was developed into Pahlavi and today we speak Pahlavi Persian it is influenced by some arabic ánd French but it has also influenced Arabic and Turkish and many many other languages .its an Indo-European (Aryan) language belonging to the western Indo-Iranian languages
