  1. It's a bit of a tricky issue.  Actually, Jews are considered an "ethnoreligious group."  Judaism is a religion originally born out of an ethnic people.  But what's interesting about Judaism is that one needn't hold any religious beliefs to be considered a Jew.  Even someone who converts to Judaism then later stops believing/ practicing, or converts to another religion, is still considered "Jewish" by the Jewish community.  Jews do share a common language, history, traditions, and it can therefore be considered an ethnicity as well.  "Secular Jews" do not practice the Jewish religion and are still considered Jewish.


  2. Its people adopting Judaism with different ethnicities...Judaism is a religion not a culture or a group of people.

  3. Judaism is a religion.  Being Jewish can be both religious and cultural.  It's a bit tricky to describe, and my Jewish friends can't totally describe it, but they've been around for 5,000 years, so perhaps it's because of their longevity that they can indeed be both, which they are.
