Yes, but that is only part of the story & refers to one bloodline only .

If you want to see the whole picture & where we all fit in read Genesis Chap 10 which details the descendents of Noah   , known as the table of Nations .

Abraham descended from the tribe of Shem & their tribe lived at Ur of the Chaldeans which was near the junction of the Tigris & Euphrates Rivers . It was from there that Abram as he was then known set out in obedience to God's call heading westwards to what was then known as Canaan & becoming the founding father of two great nations .

Do they look the same....of course there are similarities but I guess the bloodlines have been watered down in time remembering that the Arab nations have not moved far from their homelands since those days but the Jews were scattered by God & lived & bred among other nations .

yes why not ? They are all semetic arent they ? Jews, Arabs, Phoenicians, Babylonians, Assyrians, Mesopotamians are all Semetic groups, so you would expect them more or less to look alike. Same way as Southern Europeans, Scandinavians, Latinos, Slavs, Celts, Nordics, Asians look alike.

@the first answerer: The only claim you had that the Phoenicians were related to the Greeks is the fact that they sailed to our Dodecanese islands. Like Storms and Winds above said, they also travelled to North Africa, would you say they were North African also ?

Lebanese is a nationality.

Historically, the Lebanese were of the Phoenicians.

They're different from the Hebrews, and the ottoman arabs.

Genetically they are both Semetic. so yes

Original Jews = Hebrews (Semetic)

Lebanese = Arabs (Semetic) + Phoenicians (Semetic)

Edit1: @ c'est moi:    The Ancient Phoenicians didnt look like the Greeks. The Greeks were Hellenic, the Phoenicians were Semetic. Just because the ancient Phoenicians sailed over some Greek Islands doesnt make them Greek. With the same logic of yours the ancient Phoenicians were also North Africans since they sailed through North Africa.

Jews are persons that share a religion: Judaism. Jews can be polands, argentinians....lebaneses....americans or from anywhere. It depends on the place where that jew has bornt. Israelies are from  Israel...  but not all of them are necessary jews.....in spite of most of them are hebrews

if you are talking about the origin of  lebaneses (phoenicians) and hebrews.......they had a common root : semitic

Although some lebaneses cant like it, their genetic is the same than the hebrews' one.

So.....I have to say that lebaneses and hebrews are related to each others............but not lebaneses and jews (that is a religion)

We're more closely related to the Hebrews than the Arabs. Those of Phoenician stock I mean. The Phoenicians were also fair-skinned compared to the Arabs; as you could see by the out linings of modern Lebs. Genetically we're all related.

Lebanese is like Jewish, an ethnicity and also a country.  

Most Lebanese are Lebanese (by ethnicity) and race group though you have the Palestinians who have breeded with Lebanese and some Armenians, but for the most part at least 80-88% of all Lebanon is actually Lebanese race group who descend from Phoenicia and are Phoenicians (st john maron).

There are some Jewish people who look like Lebanese, some Jewish who look like Arabs, and some Lebanese who look like Jews.

I think that some Lebanese and Jews share similar genesbut obviously not very man......

It depends on what kind of Jew they are and where they are from.  SO many Jews look different you can never tell, they could be white, brown, black....very hard.

Adam Sandler could pass as Lebanese.
