Are Lebanese interested in the Olympics?

Lebanon only has one person in the Olympics (swimmer Wael Koubrousli), so I am curious to know if Lebanese people even care about the Olympics, since the nation almost has no competitors. Do they/you still watch it? Is there another country you like to cheer for, or your region of the world?

You know the world has gone totally nutso !!  Russia & Georgia are having an all out war with apparently hundreds killed already  & all we see on television news is China putting on an entertainment extravaganza as if it's the most important news of the moment.

Hmm.. I don't know how many players were there but remember 7 persons squad from Labanon from yesterday's opening .
