Are Liberals Evil?

Question

I'm a liberal Democrat. Here's what I want. Does it make me evil?

I want my guns. Hunting, concealed carry, self protection. I don't need guns in my school or university and public buildings.

I want to live in a community free from Conservative morality being forced upon me. I realize my child exposed to people who aren't like me but that's the way of the world, we need tolerance.

I want the right to practice my religion anywhere I choose. I also don't want to force my religion on those who choose not to practice it.

I want a society that understands a safety net is essential because people are faulty and make mistakes.

I want people to be proud of their country (regardless of it's leadership). Question authority. Make sure they stand up for the constitution that so many have died for.

I want you to look at other models and see if they work better than ours and adapt so we can become a more perfect union.

Am I evil?

agree on your first point...

on your second..tolerance is no excuse to destroy morality...aka rules of behavior, etc..

morality are just "lessons learned by all our ancestors" on what actions are good for people and which ones are not, in the short or long term....!

you don't throw them away because we don't like them...they have reason for been, and like I said they are lesson of life...

and that is my problem with some of your believe of liberals like you, you want to disregards hundreds of years of morality, aka, lesson learn by humanity about what works in life and personal behaviour and what does not work!

No. You're very smart. But you loose the cons at "I want you to look at other models and see if they work better than ours and adapt so we can become a more perfect union." They think improvement, i.e. "change", is a bad word.

You are evil from the perspective of those who do not want change or improvement - because they have wealth and power and don't want to give it up.

Liberalism is about positive change - that is evil to those who cling to what makes them rich.

You're evil alright... but not because you're a liberal... being liberal is just your chosen flavor of evil.

You're evil because all have sinned and have fallen short of the Glory of God. We are all sinners, and not one of us is truly good.

There's also no such thing as conservative morality. I'm Conservative, but my morality comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm conservative because of my God's impression upon me.

All of your listed values are conservative by the way. The only people I see forcing their values on others are liberals. Liberals control our schools, and if your values are conservative then you are generally wrong. I wasn't a Christian growing up, but that doesn't mean I have forgotten how I treated and how my school treated Christians and those with conservative values. Secularism is force upon everyone in public schools, and secularism is not Conservative by any means... they don't let Christians practice their religion in school either.

The only leaning that you have which could be liberal is your "safety net". Conservative thought says that it's up to the individual to figure out their personal "safety net", while liberal thought says it's up to the nation. Christian thought says it's up to the individual, but the church can perform in this mannor on a community based level... as many of them do.

Your last value listed is Conservative as well, in terms of states' rights. Allowing more power to the state governments, or at least influence on domestic affairs, so that there are 50 internal models for government to look upon... then the federal government can then adopt the best ones after a long and tested period of time. Looking outside of our country and applying those foreign ideas on the federal level without Congressional approval is liberal... this happens a lot in our country.

Regardless, we're all evil and it's not by the choices we make in politics which makes us good or evil... our very nature is evil.

No you're not evil, and you know it.  It's not what you and I want that matters in this country, what matters is what the majority of people want---because we have majority rule and minority rights guaranteed in the constitution......so, if you cannot get what you would like to have, practice the tolerance needed to change the world--one person at a time....

no,but you shouldn't limit constitutional rights such as where you can carry a firearm if you meet the criteria for your permit. so you do want to limit the constitution as long as you see it is ok.what is conservative morality? i am a conservative and do not have a problem with morals.i don't have a problem with people who are different.this is america after all.you can be who you want and i respect that.i don't want someone defining my morals .
