Are Macromedia flash files compatible with Adobe flash?

ive downloaded macromedia flash at home in order to do a school project and am almost finished yet ive just realised that we have adobe flash at school- not macromedia.

is it ok, will it open properly?? or do i have to do the whole project again?? =S

  1. Adobe owns Macromedia now so it's the same thing. The Macromedia name is kept alive because they invented the flash and a lot of people are still using it.

    Don´t Worry friend, I will explain:

    Adobe Flash CS3 (Flash 9)

    Macromedia Flash 8 (Flash 8)

    Macromedia Flash MX 2004 (Flash 7)

    Macromedia Flash MX (Flash 6)

    Ok, The Higher Versions are fully compatible with the lower, for example:

    Flash 9, can read, modify: Flash 8, Flash 7 and Flash 6

    Flash 8, can read, modify: Flash 7 and Flash 6

    But,

    Flash 8 can´t read, modify: Flash 9

    Flash 7 can´t read, modify: Flash 8 and Flash 9
