Are Magic Mushrooms Illegal

does anyone no the specific laws against magic mushrooms, and do police regularly enforce these laws like they do other drugs.

They may be listed as a "narcotic" or as a "controlled substance" or as a specific class of drug, but either way they are illegal. If you are caught with them in your possession you will more than likely be arrested.

I've never heard of anybody being charged or convicted of having mushrooms in their possesion.

Definitley illegal.  If you get busted with them you get charged with possesion of a controlled substance, usually a felony charge.

It is not the mushroom that is illegal, it is the active ingredient, psilocybin.

Psilocybin can cause hallucinations, feelings of euphoria, depression, and disorientation. It is considered a controlled substance.

Mushrooms are not illegal. In fact, you can buy them at the store.

Violating someones rights, body, or property is illegal. Plants, are not illegal.

As soon as you accept laws (good or bad) you do not agree with, you are endorsing them. If you feel it is your right to do what you want with your body - so long as it harms nobody else, then do it reguardless of law.

Imagine laws passed that ban certian fatty foods (dont laugh, its closer than you think), would you follow them?

Imagine a law was passed that said for you to harm every red head you saw, would you follow it?

The most rediculous thing with law enforcement, is taxpayer money going to wards banning PLANTS. it shows there are too many police, so much that they must create problems to be the 'magic solution' for.
