  1. No. The only reference to the Sun I can recall is along the lines of: as the Sun rises in the East to open the day, so should the Worshipful Master rise to open the lodge. It's more about using the Sun as a symbol of regularity: ancient workmen would have planned their days around it, but not worshiped it.

  2. Interesting question, I haven't seen anyone ask this before...

Freemasonry is not a religion, as such freemasons to not worship anything. Every freemason must have a belief in a supreme being however, so they all have something they worship through their religion/church.

Most freemasons I know are Christian and hence they worship Christ; however I know Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist freemasons as well.

There is nothing in freemasonry that I have read that would suggest they worship the sun so I'm wondering where your question arises.

If I were to speculate I would guess either the anti-mason camp (not suggesting you are one, but they claim luciferianism in the satan worship sense) but the term lucifer means light bearer/bringer, typically this refers to venus, the morning star which proceeds the sun into the sky each morning so I could see someone drawing an extension from there.

I could also see someone trying to draw conclusions by saying freemasonry is a pagan based system...

But none of these are accurate and I've rambled enough :)
