CAN MATTER BE CONVERTED INTO SPACE LIKE ANNHILITION AND THE ENERGY RELEASE DURING THE PROCESS IS EQUAL TO ENERGY USED IN BRINGING THE PARTICLES TOGETHER , THIS MATTER EVENTUALLY CONVERS INTO SPACE AND VICE VERSA

IN THE CASE ENERGY BALANCE IS ALSO MAINAINED I.E NOTHING IS PRODUCED NOT LOST ????????????

  1. No it cant only to energy, but i wonder if u could convert it to light if E=mc squared then can the matter be taken from the energy to make light or can the light be taken to make matter like m=E/c squared or c squared=E/m

  2. No

Matter converts to energy, not to space.  Space time is a result of the presence of matter.

  3. no. matter can be converted to energy and visa versa, but nothing can be converted into space. space is just space.

  4. no... matter and space are two different things. Matter takes up space therefore empty space is basically just an absense of matter.

    Hope that helps =)

  5. Hmmm, not exactly but sort of maybe.

    How's that for an answer?

Matter is a kind of energy.  Energy warps space and time, but it doesn't create it exactly.  But it's possible that there is an energy associated with space.  It might cost you something to create space.  Or maybe the cost is negative, so you pick up some energy by creating space.  So in a way, MAYBE, they are interconvertible.

Your question is touching on what physicists call the dark energy problem--why is the universe expanding at an increasing rate?  The answer may well have to do with the energy cost of creating space.

  6. I don't think so

if matter annihilates some energy must be produced contradicting the concept of space(absence of something).
