Question:

Are McDonalds, KFC, etc really that bad?

Obviously, the food is high calorie, but is the quality and preparation of the food in McDonalds, and other similar fast food chains really that much worse than more "fashionable" places such as Subway.

So, do McDonalds really deserve the redicule they receive, or has it just become fashionable to shun McDonalds, and trendy to go to Subway and Starbucks? In 10 years, will it be Subway and Starbucks who are getting slatted for poor quality and preperation?

  1. Subway is fine if you dont get cheese and sauces and just get some meat and heaps of salad otherwise its not too different to the rest.

  2. yes they r did you know that 1.2billion people r obeist

  3. everything in moderation.

  4. I read somewhere that there is actually more beef fat in Chicken McNuggets than actual chicken!

  5. yes, they are all bad for your health, but i would be a hypocrite if i said that i avoid such foods.

  6. modiration is the key to good eats! any food is good for you just got be careful how much of what you eat...

  7. i think there is no problem with the quality.

if i  had them too much, i would grow fat.

  8. All processed food is bad for you...period!

  9. if it's good it's good! I worked there and it was very clean and so  were the employees!

  10. Ronald McDonald is a sadistic pedophile!

  11. The answer is yes, McDonalds and KFC are actually worse in food preparation than Subway. Subway does have higher quality ingredients but not nearly good enough to consider them saintly. I already consider Subway at the least almost as bad as McDonalds. It's about freshness of product, as opposed to freezers and preservatives. McDonalds serves flavored c**p. Trust me on this. Ask yourself the question why french fries from a normal restaurants will grow mold and McDonalds fries last forever. Subway is only touted in reference to fast food restaurants, where product is publicly known to be fatty but fast. If you compare Subway to other delis, it is among the worst.

  12. Could swear on your family graves the same two flies had caught a ride from a drive thru customer or employee who works at two different KFC stores.

Both two huge flies buzzing near around cashier ordering area. GROSS! Done with KFC and TACO BELL mix stores.

  13. if u r addicted to the fast food restaurants then its bad...or if u visit once in a while its not dat bad....its eriously depends on how much and wat u eat there...

  14. Westernized civilization has all but lost the art of home-cooking.  It is hardly surprising that many people set great store by eating out at such places.

The food  (there's a travesty of title!) is by far and away the worst stuff imaginable.

Start to get back into home cooking, and your health will improve.

Don't say you have no time, and then blame this on working hours; many people work long hours in order to keep up with their neighbours, financially speaking. Make more time for home prepared food, and eating it with your family.

To your question - YES they are all as bad as each other - the worst c**p man ever ate!

  15. Morgan Spurlock proved this point in the documentary super size me. I mean really did you not see how eating just McDonalds for 30 days had a major toll on his health in just that short of a time.

Starbucks will see its day and that is closing in with the economy in such turmoil. Not many people are really up for paying 4 dollars for a cup of coffee.

  16. I've worked at a Subway, trust me there is nothing going on there that isn't going on at McDonalds or Burger King. As for quality of ingredients, please. Since when did deli meat become healthy. For those of you who eat the Subway tuna or the seafood and crab all I can think about is how we used this big tub thing and mixed the imitation crab product with globs and globs of mayo from a huge jug and mixed it with our gloved hands. It was gross just doing it but that was the way it was supposed to be done for both of them. MMM, yummy.

That said I love fast food. I'm not stupid and I realize that eating it all the time is not good for one's health. But I cannot stand preachy people who have to dog those of us who want to eat it. Just because you eat fast food sometimes doesn't mean you are a big lazy pig. Oh yeah and there are plenty of skinny unhealthy people who eat fast food all the time.

  17. I hear you!     I've been wondering for a long time  when America is going to stop letting other people do their thinking for them.

In any restaurant (or at home),  If people want to stuff themselves wih all that food, they will become obese & unhealthy.

It's a matter of choice.  It's matter of control.

I love fast food and Mcdonalds' food is always hot and fresh.

I have my own rule of thumb when I go to any fast food place:  I order one burger & a diet drink.  No sides, no seconds, no dessert.

And when I occasionally stop at the window for an ice cream cone or apple pie, I don't feel guilty because I know I have made good meal choices.

And I don't let anyone else do my thinking.

  18. a friend of mine was working in McDonalds and she told me they are dirty. some people wasnt even washing there hands before touching the food. she told me if people could see whats going on in the back room they would never eat from there again

  19. maybe starbucks is better definately ....healthier but then subway UGH! NO WAY ! i hat it and all their sandwiches taste the same! ....mcdonalds is the best out of kfc...burger king i think and eggs are free range?? so yep ...i slightly agree with u......

  20. Good for you.  I have worked with (not for) the fast food industry for years and I've learned quite a bit.  Yes, the food isn't the healthiest in the world, but it's not meant to be your sole source of nutrition.  And there are plenty of other unhealthy foods available in the grocery store too.  Overall these are successful companies run by decent people. Their business plan is no different than any other major company in the world.  McDonald's draws the most criticism because it is the largest and most successful.  As for SuperSize Me, folks need to watch that movie with a critical eye and some common sense.  My work has primarily been with McD and I can tell you that these are good people who run a very very tight ship and that their standards of safety, hygiene, freshness, etc are incredibly high.  Sure not every store is up to standard, but most are.  I can also tell you that some other brands (and their individual stores) don't hold to such high standards, and there are places I won't eat again after being behind the scenes.  Every brand has their challenges in the world and in 10 years who knows what will come?  But I know that the rumors and criticism is largely baseless and that people can enjoy fast food as long as they do so in moderation and with responsibility.

  21. It's not good for you because not only the high calories, but, the high sugar, sodium and fat content as well.  It's a pretty bad mixture for your liver and other digestive organs.  Not to mention high sodium wreaks havoc on your kidneys.

  22. no

  23. well the food mcd and kfc here taste way better than where ever u r lol i tried the nuggets mcd at uk before and i dont like it i still prefer food here (: yum food

  24. im going to sound like my parents here but nothing is THAT bad for you if you balance it with good food and exercise. if you eat take out every day and do no exercise youll put on weight and become unhealthy, obviously. balance in all things. if you eat or drink too much of anything it could kill you, so perhaps the restaruants dont deserve the bad rep that they have, but the people who constantly dine there who are to blame.
