Are Men smarter then Ladys?

i heard someone say that MEn are more Intelligent than woman, is that true>? i said no, women ar JUST as smart but they sayd they did a study and it say s that Men are smarter. is this true?? I dont belive it

first of all I want to say that yes men are smarter than women because men have invented more things and discover more things than women and also because adam named the animals not eve.

I believe that when they're younger, girls are smarter ...

Boys tend to be more .. uhh... immature at some ages that girls are already mature ... and the boys do stupid things...

But when they're older? who knows? it depends on what subject you're talking about.

this is a proven fact....

they did a study on girl and boy baby's..at about the 8th month a chemical in the boys brain causes some type of brain damage..it make the boy not so emotional..its hard to explain but i believe this is why men are not as gibberish and loving as women..God id this so men can stay focused at work and not be so emotional attached about things like women..its also prov en women can do more things at one time then men..multitasking is for women..i wont say women are smarter but God made us different for different reasons..

actually i read in a newspaper just the opposite that women r 5% more intellegent than men...but hey i think this is just another type of stereotype so i say it has nothing to do with gender

you only have to look at the poor academic performance of teenage boys compared with teenage girls to doubt that comment.

i think it's possibly true that men perform slightly better than women at university level, but while they're in their teens boys are just imbeciles.

Men are not smarter than women in any way shape or form. They may be more knowledgeable about certain subjects because those subjects are what boys are taught to take interest in, but as for IQ, no.

well it depends on who you study. i do not think men are smarter than women or that women are smarter than men. but i also do not believe that men are just as intelligent as women are. i know this does not make sense but...........

After being married for over 10 years I can tell you that NO men are not smarter than woman...ha ha ....

What I can say is that men tend to be smarter about strange things.  They, most, can take a part something and put it back together without instructions; it if is a car, a computer, a toaster...ect.  They know silly (stupid) stuff like sport stats and what happened in the superbowl 5 years ago.....but of course can not remember that you asked this 8 hours ago to pick up crickets on the way home.  (my husband drives right pass the fish store and I ask him to pick up crickets for our fire belly toads 1x a week)

Woman on the other hand can solve situations better, we organize and attack  a problem while a man just attacks.  We are more compassionate and understand...except for when they forget the crickets and we remember 1000xs more during the course of the day.  

I do not know of any study that said men are smarter and can not really imagine how they would measure that.

I am always skeptical about these so called studies. If 16 female engineering students were given mathematics tests, alongside 16 male cleaners, i guess the engineering students would have more KNOWLEDGE and get most answers right compared to the cleaners, but this doesnt make them more intelligent because they are engineers, or indeed female.

All of the results of all of these studies are dependant upon the context in which the studies were carried out.

In my opinion, men are more practical and think mechanically, whereas women think logically and their intelligence lies in the depth of empathy and emotions.

So neither is the "most intelligent" s*x. It is equal, but depends on how each gender decides to nurture and use their intelligence.

men are smarted in different subject than women, that's what I believe.  Like my guy, he's an ironworker-and I don't know s*** about steel work or weilding.  I'm fond of gardening and history, and he couldn't grow a weed if he tryed.

Our brains function differently as well.

All these claims that men are smarter. If you look back in history it was all men that discovered everything.

Nope,God created us all equal in everything.Studies can't show who is smarter.Besides I have a friend in school that is a girl and she gets at least 99s and 100s in her final averages and I 'm not lying because I've seen her grades.For example lets say they put the 2 top smartest boy and girl and make them have a competition to see who is smarter.So lets say the boy wins, that doesn't mean that boys are smarter it just showed that he is smarter than hi's opponent not every girl in the world.I feel so insulted right now.

If men are smarter, I need someone to explain to me why I had to go change the belts on our car, change the oil, do general routine maintenance, balance teh checkbook, take care of my husband s if he were a baby WHILE caring for two actual babies 24 hours a day.

This question hardly deserves an intelligent answer because men are smart in certain areas because the school system has directed certain areas or subjects to them, while women were directed to certain areas or subjects as well.  Men have longer time and experience in mechanical areas, mathematics, science, computers.  Women have longer time and experience in English, the arts and issues about society which includes the family.  

So its better that the question be emphasized:  What kind of subjects do men focus on more than women?   Or what subjects or areas are men generally trained at longer than women?  Vice versa.

In general, women are supposedly smarter than men, but when we put the elite men against the elite women, the elite men are smarter than the elite women.  If you look at all the most successful businesspeople in the world, you'll see that men top the charts.  If you look at the people with the highest IQ's in the world, again you will see that men are at the top of the list.  The same goes for many other academic, scientific and technological achievement commendations.
