According to this article, when the 1992 Dream Team members were selected, "John Stockton was chosen over Isiah Thomas because Michael Jordan didn’t want Thomas around." Are Jordan and Thomas enemies?

they are bitter rivals for sure. pistons versus bulls. the dream team composition ( excluding thomas ) and the indianapolis 1985 all-star ' freeze out ' ( jordan's rookie year where he scored 7 points on 2 out of 9 shooting plus 3 FTs made ) added to the intrigue. thomas denied though the ' freeze out ' pointing that he himself was a relative newcomer to the nba at the time and could not tell east all stars like bird erving and malone to do as he wished. thomas did voice out against his exclusion from 1992 dream team but targetted stockton instead of jordan.

well, they sure aren't friends. athletes are very competitive and have huge egos and these men are no exception. isiah is from chicago and i'm sure it doesn't feel to good to go home and see the whole city worshiping michael. as far as the '92 dream team, zeke's coach (chuck daly) coached the dream team but isiah somehow missed the cut. if michael didn't have anything to do it with it sure looks like he did.

Yes, they are worst enemies. The story has it that when Jordan was a rookie and was selected to the All-Star game, Isaiah didn't like Jordan wearing Nike suits instead of traditional team suits so Isaiah told the other guys on the team to "teach Jordan a lesson" by ignoring him and not passing him the ball in the All-Star game.
