I saw a couple Mitusbishi vehicles in the mall the other day and i have to admit that I know nothing about them. The prices are really good though. I saw an eclipse spyder and an Suv called an outlander. Anybody own a mitsubishi or know anybody that does? What do you think about them?

  1. jorjel my 2000 mits galant has 201865 miles and it runs great the only thing i ever had to replace was the brakes, tires, oil and headlights, and I dont have to do that very often and my 99 mits galant is about to hit 300000 and she purrrs like a kitten and the paint is still shiny.

  2. hope this helps

i wouldnt think so bc you never here anyone say my mitsubishi has 200,000 miles and i still love how it runs.....they depreciate fast too.

  3. Mitsubishi used to be great models. Look at the first few generations of Lancers. They have a strong body and nice to drive. But as time goes by, only the designs are good-looking. The quality deteriorated. Same for Proton Edar, a Malaysian Carmaker. The first model's generations were the tough ones. As the "days" gone by, the vehicle became vulnerable to defects of all sorts. Proton Saga has several engines, namely Orion, Magma, MegaValve, LMST (also referred to as Iswara) and BLM. However, the tough models were actually Orion and Magma (although, sad to say that the body is not really rust-proof although it's really solid). It's the same for Lancers. Only the first 3 Generations are famed for a rigid chassis. Others unfortunately are quite the flexible type.

  4. i'am a mechanic i been a mechanic since i was 15 now i'am 24 , i do  10 cars a day . when i see a mitsubishi in our parking lot , first thing before i open the hood is a bet the customer or  my boss and either others employees it's a pulley .

my uncle bought a brand new mitsubishi for his son and the pulley came off right in the first year .

my dad bought also had a 1987 truck i remember the timing chain us eto come out liek every 20,000 miles , but in my experience all the 1985-2007 have pulley problems as i also did some reasearch

1987-1993 had seat belt tensioner problems

1991-1997 trucks have rear end problems

2000-2007 have cheap oil drain plugs

if u want a real reliable car get a a ford mustang , they are really cheap  for what ur getiing in that mustang , if ur looking for a luxury car get a toyota avalon , for a pick up truck get a ford f150 or dodge ram 1500  but make sure it's a v8 if ur buying a truck. even if u find one with 120,000 miles they still run goods espacially now is the best times to buy a truck cause of gas prices are going up and no one is willing t buy a guzzlers , that's why trucks are pile up at the dealer.

if ur looking for a small good gas saver car

toyota yaris , chevy aveo, kia rio, hyundai accent,(dont get full with hybird and smart cars ) they are just wasting ur money , they are labor costly and not much mpg from the listed above .

if ur looking for a stylish car and on a budget mazda 3 ,are greatand actually good hp .

my last suggestion is dont get  Gm or chevy try to go for ford or dodge, chrysler, jeep , good suv are jeep compass  or patriot they are really great and not pricey and they are front wheels drive .

    hope u take my advise

90% of the car that come to our shop are made by GM so stay away from that brand .

please dont waste ur money on just maintance  do the priority , lots of peoples spend their money on something else

SPARK PLUGS  : change them at 80,000 miles and up cause lots of peoples change them earlie  and it's like wasting ur money

OIL CHANGE :  cant go cheap on that , the more you change the oil the better  even if u can change it at 1200 miles that would be great i'll say go for it . synteti oil and etc dont make them full u out they just wear ur seals . always drain uroil all the way and for the oil filter change it every 2 oil change.

AIR FILTER : CHANGE IT EVERY 3 OILS CHANGE

FUEL FILTER  :they are good till 12,000 miles  not less not more then that period

TRANS FLUID :  this is the only thing u dont want to mess with a lot if it's atomatic , change it every 60,000-80,000  miles  but make sure it's machine  flush .

ANTIFREESE OR COOLANT : change it every 5 years (rust , dirt , corrossion dont happen that easy and it cant ,cause radiator run at 180 at least so dont belive in rust till 5 years )

flushing the radiator too much is not good and always use  the green antifreeze even if your car say red  or pink or all european or yellow . (red , pink  yellow are not goods cause they will wear ur gaskets out).

make sure u put pure water not tap cause it would make corrossion .

REAR END :OR FRONT END : are goods till 40000 miles
