Most people will say, "Oh I hate bees (or snakes, rats, spiders, etc.) And most the time there is the response of "Well, they help us and the environment." Which brings me back to my queation.

  1. Birds and other animals that would eat them eat other bugs too. They don't NEED mosquitos. Unless if the mosquito contained a certaint nutrient, that absolutely no other animal has, then yes mosquitos are important if the animals NEED that nutrient. Otherwise, animals would have otherways of getting their nutrients, or they would die off and other animals that don't NEED mosquitos and only mosquitos would evolve. It's just natural selection.

It's outragiously inaccurate to claim birds and other animals that eat them will die out without them. ALL of those animals DO eat other insects, they don't NEED whatever it is about the mosquito. They eat them because there are tons of them to go around, it is not like the Mosquito is an essential part of their diets. The "food-chain" is a nice theory, but it also explains it in another way. Mosquitos are just ONE of the things on the buttom of the food chain, which are very VERY small and contain barely any sort of nutrient.

Clearly whoever gave me a thumbs down doesn't even have the intelligence to judge whether my advice was bad or good. What I said is COMPLETELY TRUE.

  2. "Helpful" is a really homo-centric concept. Does it matter if they "help" people? Why should they?

Mosquitoes are part of the food chain, which makes them "helpful." They eat and are eaten. They spread parasites, which is certainly "helpful" to the parasite.

Many mosquitoes also are nectar feeders which is "helpful" to the plant as nectar feeders often transport pollen.

  3. i dont think they are. i hate them.

  4. without mosquitoes, the world wouldn't have what eats them.  Birds, fish, frogs, spiders, bats, etc. etc.

They also spread viruses, and disease.  Thus, helping in natural selection.

  5. NO

  6. Yeah even though they can get annoying they do help us. Mosquitoes are what helped us remake dinosaurs that now roam in our very own Jurassic Park
