Are My Skis Too Long?!?!?!?

i am 130 pounds. and my neighbor gave me her old skis and shes a racer, about my height, 5.5. and the skis are 163 and go up to like the almost top of me head from the ground. are they too tall for me? i'm an intermediete skiier. thank you! asap please!!

You say your friend is a racer so we are probably talking about a pair of skis with little side-cut that are VERY stiff in which case you would want a much smaller version. A "race" ski is very responsive for a racer and are made in particular for skiing at high speed but are extremely lazy at slower speeds especially in the hands of a beginner. These are skis you can grow into as you progress and will probably love once your skill level improves but until then they will be hard to make tight turns with

actually ur skis should be between ur nose and chin any longer and they get harder and harder to turn
