Are Natural Disasters Becoming More Numerous?

What do you think? I asked my science teacher this question and he thinks that the reason we think that they are becoming more numerous is because of the growing instant news, that we are just being informed of more and more disasters faster while other countries economies gain the technology to spread the news.

I have a theory on that, now that the earth is cooling the crust is shrinking, thus causing the magma below to be under higher pressure, thus more volcanic eruptions and earthquakes. Be interesting to look back at the last few instantances of global cooling and pin point when the eruptions started versus when the earth started to cool. To me this is all natural, nothing to do with human activity.

Yes I do belive that more disasters are happening, but natural i dont think so. I believe that we are to blame for them because of how we are treating the planet if we keep this up there will be no more earth and no more life.

An emphatic NO!

Some people want you to think so because it helps further their agenda but the truth is that natural disasters are NOT increasing.

What IS increasing is media coverage.  The time that Mt. Vesuvius that we know of, they didn't have so many media outlets scrambling for news and filler, no internet needing content, no camera phones or blackberries.

If somebody had a camera phone in Atlantis, there'd be widespread panic about sinking cities.
