  2. yea, shhh she's one of em.

  3. yeah shh im one of em

  4. this is historically debateable.

it is unknown whether or not ninjas as you traditionally understand them were real.

wild stories about them acting like "robin hood" myths and having magical powers are bull.

it is unknown whether or not they played the role of "clans" of assasins/spies or they were "familial" and hired by thier daimyo or whetehr they were simply samurai trained in the arts of espionage.

becasue the "spy" model fits more logically in with history and the way every other non tribal government in the known world operates and would operate, it would make more logical sense that they were not clan oriented and were directly connected to thier lord and matters of state.  whether they could be considered specially trained samurai is unknown.

  5. Ninja -were- real. Being a ninja wasn't simply a matter of knowing ninjutsu. It was your role in life: you didn't want to be ninja, you had to be because it was your only choice -- the daimyo were taking your lands, forcing your sons into the army or forcing your daughters into prostitution for the  army...

You want to learn about ninja, then there's a number of decent books filled with loads of misinformation for your benefit... Steven Turnbull (I believe) wrote a book on the Ninja, aptly title "Ninja" (with some years following... I don't recall... I didn't find it that compelling). Hatsumi Masaaki, Soke of Togakure-Ryu Ninpo Happo Hiken, has a number of books on the ninja with some great history. Tanemura Shoto has a book called Hiden Ninpo with a more diverse Ninja history.

Most ninja history was passed down through Kuden (oral transmission), so much of it is dubious. You'd probably learn just as much from visiting Iga-Ueno, seeing the tourist attractions there, and trying to figure out what's plausible and not contradictory.

  6. Yes, Ninjas are real. Go to the library.

  7. Yes they are real. But they're often not like the ones we see on TV. One of my favorite martial arts is called Ninjutsu, which is a ninja's primary art. Google "ninjas" or go on wikipedia.
