Are Obama and Palin being compared because people don't think McCain will live to carry out a full term?

Obama is running for president, Palin was picked for a VP spot, so why even compare them? Why not compare her to Biden?

Palin is being compared to Obama because he is a lesser person than the Republicans' VP.

McCai 's criticism of Obama was "lack of experience"  So the media is comparing his lack of experience to hers.  McCain's age complicates the issue because he is 72.  In 4 years 76.  He's showing what many think are the first signs of dementia, possibly alzheimers but we can't be sure.  But if he is, then in a year or two there would be a significant chance that the Vice-President might have to take over if he were to be the President.

This is specualtion, but since Palin doesn't have much experiece beyond Mayor of a small town, it is a good thing to investigate her and thoroughly.  On the other hand Obama has served in a major state's legislature and anserved effectively in the US Senate for 4 years.  He's shown wisdom and independence from corporate lobbyists.  So, in my opinion, Palin "pales" in comparrison.  Comparing her to Biden, she has nothing except Joe was never a beauty queen.

The right wing is going to love her for her anti-abortion stance and for the pictures of her shooting all sorts of guns.  But that's not going to convince most independents.

Bc McCain is 72 and has had cancer 4 times.. And the biggest issue the GOP has been arguing is experience. Yet she doesn't have it and could very well be President if/when McCain dies.

Obama and Palin are being compared because the Obama team said she was unqualified.

Ironically, Palin has much more relative experience than Obama.  So, since the Obamacans brought it up, those supporting McCain/Palin are telling how Palin's experience stacks up against Obama.

It goes like this:  

Let's see, McCain chose a VP candidate who has even *more* experience than Obama, but you think that shows poor judgment on his part:

City Council 1992-1996: Elected for two terms (4 years)

Mayor: 1996-2002 Elected for two terms, (4 years) Also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors

Ethics Commissioner: 2003-2004 (1 year) Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. She resigned in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders.

Governor: 2006-2008 (2 years)

Palin: Grand total of 11 years in service to elected/appointed positions.

Palin GOVERNED for six years as mayor and Governor.

Obama: Grand total of 9 years in service in elected positions. As Senator (state and federal) his job was to talk about policies, propose policies, and vote on policies. NO EXPERIENCEWITH GOVERNING -- AT ALL!!!!!!!)

Obama has no executive experience at all.  Palin does and yet look at the response to her.  I can't believe Obama ran for president with absolutely no executive experience and only 150 days served in the US senate.  They compare them to each other because they are comparable.  Neither ready to be president.
