Im watching some the Olympics highlights and some of these people are going in-sane and shouting an yelling an screaming when they win

It's like ok you won is there a reason you have to brag so much?

Jees you don't even see this kinda of cockyness in sports people usually have good manner's and showmanship

seems like the olympic's this stuff goes right out of the window michael phelps like cheering an yelling when his team wins and it just doesn't need to be done be calm and congratulate the other team too and be nice

i dont get all this cockyness from its mostly usa teams here all the other ones seem very respectful and gracefully win USA is shouting an screaming

IM FROM the USA so whats up with these ppl this isn't how it should be done

  1. Uh I'd be excited too if I finally got to live out my dream, and be one of the best in the world. After countless hours of hard work, dedication, and defying the odds, if I ever medaled or even had the chance to participate in the olympics and represent my country, I'd probably die of happiness. Not everyone can do that. They have the right to be proud.

  2. No. They're happy that they won. They scream and yell because they're happy and excited. I was a little tentative about the screaming of the US team during the relay, but I think it's an appropriate way to express their feelings.

I participate in various competitions and always scream and jump if we win.

  3. While i really cant laugh more at the Americans ' We r superior' attitude

i respect the fact that their athletes in sum sports r really the best

but plz u guys, stop belittling their hard work and toil by bad mouthing and doubting the acheivements of other countries  esp china

  4. Oh yeah, the French team was really respectful when they said "The Americans? We're going to smash them. That's what we came here to do." *rolls eyes*

As for the cheering, I see nothing wrong with that. If they win, they have every right to be excited about it. They train for years and years for that moment.

  5. I don't think it's cocky at all, they're winning at the frikken olympics, forgive them for being proud and excited.

  6. It's because they are just so exited. It's different from other sports because EVERYONE in the world could be watching. it's exiting and you can't control yourself.

  7. Gamesmanship; perhaps? Don't worry about it.

  8. When people get excited they cheer, it's just human nature.  I don't see it as being cocky at all.  It was an exciting race, heck even I was jumping up and down on my bed when I saw that last touch.  Michael Phelps did shake hands with the French after the race.

And trust me it's not just the US team that does it.  Simon Fairweather let out a scream when he won the gold medal in archery back in 2000.  And us archers are usually a quiet and contemplative bunch.

  9. They have trained all their lives for this. They have a right to get excited if they win.

  10. They are celebrating an amazing victory at the OLYMPICS,the epitome of athletic competition. I recall a french swimmer saying he was going to crush the Americans(that is cocky), then lost to the Americans.
