Are Ouija Boards safe?

My mom used them when she was young. I can tell you it's real.

But some things i want to know is whether is there anything i can do to protect myself or whether i should buy a store bought one or make my own one. Maybe if i did make my own one it would have my energies in there?

Explanations would be good for all answers. 10 Points to the best!

  1. I've been told never play with that. Because you can get something you don't want.Bad things! You can get your self a deck of tarot cards and ask all kinds of questions it is safe and fun. You'll be surprised how accurate they are. and they come with a book to show you how and what they mean. Good luck!

  2. well my neighbor has one but i wouldn't recommend one

  3. I've used them, and I had a few friends who used them on a regular basis.  I won't go into details, but the things it told them DID come true, and they weren't good at all---that is such an understatement.  But if you think about it, if someone has died and they're happy, why would they be fooling around playing with a Ouija board?  You're only going to get negative energy.  No matter who they say they are:  your grandma, your aunt, your best friend--the LIE.  Plus, you're opening a door to you-don't-even-know-where, and you don't know what might cross over while that door is open.....and how do you know that you've gotten it shut when you're done playing?  I just think it's an incredibly bad idea and I would never play with one again, under any circumstances.

  4. No, they are not safe. My great-aunt used one before. And she said she tried to run and she was running in slow motion. Thankfully she is Jehovah-Witness now!

  5. The ouija board is just a game that you can buy in most toy stores and department stores, an ordinary piece of wood or plastic or cardboard.  It has no supernatural powers.  The people using the ouija board make it work.  It plays on your mind and imagination and your susceptibilities and beliefs and fears.  It can be scary because the imagination is a powerful thing, and can make you believe just about anything.  Here are a couple of links that discuss ouija boards.

  6. absolutely NOT!!! never use one!

one of my grandma's friends had one and brought it out at a slumber party.  my grandma asked where all these answers were coming from and the board spelled out S-A-T-A-N.

    please!! never EVER use one.

  7. my sister keeps telling me that they are very dangerous and to stay away from them because they can contact the spirit world. i also heard on the news that this one lady used it to ask when she was going to die and she got the answer "yes." she really did end up dying the next day. it was creepy.

although, i still want to try one.( My sister thinks i'm crazy for this reason!!!) it just interests me a lot. i don't know why but it does. I'm just the person who takes risks and is a trouble maker at school. LOL!!! I've wondered if you could contact someone that you know that is dead.

  8. really really bad idea. your messing around with witchcraft and all that weird stuff

    do i think they work?

    yes.

    do endorse them?

    NO.

  9. I've had both the Glow-in-the-Dark store bought one, and I've made one myself (which I still have). I played with the store bought one, and have had some weird experiences with it (I think it's due to the house that I live in). I actually got so freaked out by it once, that I burned it!

I made one with a square piece of wood that was leftover from building cabinets. I painted the images onto it, then covered it with a polyerthane finish. I use a crystal glass cup to "read" the board. You can also use a wood-burning tool to make the images, just make sure you put enough finish on it so that it smoothes out. I was going to do it this way, but just hadn't had the time.

As for protecting yourself, I'm not sure what you plan on asking, but there's really no need for protection unless you really pissed someone off!

  10. Although I've never played with a ouija board before, I have read up on them in preparation for when I shall. My dad hates them, therefore Im not allowed to use them while under his roof. However, here is a list of websites that should help you when making your own ouija board as well as some precautionary tips. I listed them in my sources line.

I am a firm believer in spirits, and have deduced that I am somewhat a medium after having countless spiritual occurences and numerous dreams with ghosts talking to me. They continue all the time, and I have gotten quite used to it, but they've left me with some experience whereupon I can share a few tips with you about ghosts and working with them.

~ Never insult one. Even if in jest, a congenial spirit may take it the wrong way, and either turn violent, or not come back

~ Always use the ouija board with believers. If you have skeptics, their negative energy will offset any good you have done with the board and any protective prayers you have said.

~ Remember that these beings cannot hurt you. Though they can manipulate objects, unless they are demons or extremely strong-emotional spirits, they cannot physically attack you (i.e. possession or making you ill).

~ Always remember to ask the spirits permission for anything. Whether scribing the meeting or permission to ask personal questions, you are showing your respect, and they will respect you in return

~ Never forget to say goodbye when you are finished with the conversation

  11. I wouldn't know, it doesn't sound like something i would want to mess with with out knowing what i was doing. you don't know who's karma you are receiving.
