Are Pakistan the best innovators in the Cricket World?

Hmmmm Let me see - reverse sweep, rumoured to have began by Hanif Mohammad in the late 60's and brought into the forefront of the public thanks to one Javed Miandad.

Reverse Swing - All the founding fathers of this art were Pakistani and only recently has the rest of the world come to know of how to do this but none has matched the 'Pakistani effect'.

The Doosra - The ball that literally goes the other way, as Saqlain Mushtaq the right arm offie who brought this delivery to world cricket would deliver a ball with his normal offspinning action that would spin away as from a right handed batsman as opposed to in (as the offbreak would go from off to leg).

Is it just my imagination and extreme bias that leads me to believe that almost all of modern crickets innovations have found their roots in - what do you think?

yeh Pakistan is a country filled with cricket talent.They have the best spinners,fast bowlers,batters etc.

They sure have introduced a lot of new things to cricket and hope they do well in the future as well.

Aussies too have been innovative maybe not so much in the field but off it to a great extent Aussies have been leading the way from coaching,how to use new technology, even the way cricket is shown on TV.

IPL turned out pretty ok as well and we can see India innovating the game a great deal with its financial power.

Abdull Quadir resurrected the dying art of led spin which was latter taken up by Shane W, who idolized him

they dont over coach the kids so they let the talent shine thru

every country has contributed to cricket innovation and improvisation. every batsman, bowler, fielder innovates to be better and beat the rest. zimbabwe tailender innovated shot againt glenn mcgrath, sachin, kavin etc etc . everyone innovates to survive.

Yeah ..... they are the pioneers in many departments of the game ( except fielding ), their top players like Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were labelled by the English as "Cheaters" when they perfected the art of Reverse Swing.

Reverse Swing was developed by another Pakistani Great Sar-Faraz Nawaz from which Imran Khan learnt the art.

The whole cricketing world once consider it as a "Dark Art"

They've produced great batsmen like Hanif Mohammad, Zaheer Abbas aka "The Asian Bradman" , Javed Miandad , Saeed Anwar ....

Ofcourse, some things in cricket might be invented by the pakistan players.But it is not quite good to say they are best innovators.

- The art of doosra was introduced by murali onli.

- The art of paddle shot was introduced by Douglas Marillier.

Recently,

-The Switch hit by Peterson.

-The walking style of Uthappa etc.,

Akhtar, innovated the art of hitting a team mate with a bat and Asif, explored, his way in to the very hot and humid Dubai jail for taking drugs.lol. Sorry u all, for  being off topic here, just responding to a q asked, above, with a lil humour, but its serious in a way, cause of players like these, cricket is no longer a gentlemen's sport.

Imran Khan is probaly the best all rounder ever. and Pakistan has traditionally always had potent fast bowlers.

They have innovated really amazing things in cricket!!!

But the last sentence originally is used only for Sachin Tendulkar!!!

Yes, you are right.

Nips and sachinlvr: Murali did not invent the doosra, nor does he bowl it right, coz he is a chucker. Matthew Hayden walked down the pitch too, so Uthappa gets credit for something he was not the first to do.
