Question:

Are Phillipina women better than their husbands?

I am Saudi, and we have a lot of nurses here.

I have heard so many stories here of Phillipina hard working nurses working long hours here to send the money back to her parents, kids and husband. Many times the husband is jobless, drunk and ending up with extra marriage affairs.

Is this common, or just stereotyping?

  1. It depends. Most of them are caring, kind and family-oriented. Most Filipino men like to get drunk all day and even beat their wives up. But, they're not all like that. My dad is in tanzania and he's really hardworking. He travels 1 km just to get to the Internet shop just to use

    skype to call us.

My mom is still the typical Filipina. She works like a man, though. I don't know how she does it-- caring for us (her children) and managing her business.

  2. It works both ways. You will both in both sexes. It is not uncommon in Southeast Asian countries to find men who keep 2 families.  One in their native country and another where they work. Filipina nurses tend to be a cut above the average in their country because  they can afford to be educated. There are  also many Filipino men working in the Arab lands who are also sending  money back to the Phils.

  3. Of course not, my dear fellow.

You should know that men are the heads of households, the Big Cheat, er the Big Chief, rather,  the boss, the foundation stone of the family.   Those stories you hear are all lies,  spread by other expat nationals to discredit our Filipina nurses working in Saudi Arabia, or to dishearten them, so that when they leave, they can take over.

Of course, this is an attempt in futility.   They can never fill their shoes.  Not in a million years.   Filipina nurses are the best, and their men are equally enterprising,  while remaining faithful.

  4. Well it happens,  There are a lot of that kind, but they do not constitute the majority.....I hope.

  5.   they  are  not  better,  they  are  just  more  responsible  and  kinder....

  6. Philippine women are better at looking after their families, specially in taking care of the children.  I guess this responsibility has been inculcated in the minds of the women from childhood and from observations from their mothers.  It has not been long though that Filipino women have taken to working outside their homes to augment the family's income where the men of the house cannot or their wages cannot suffice the needs of the family.  This does not however mean that married women are better than their husbands.  Too many factors to consider before one can conclude such a statement.  Although it has become the fashion of the times that more women are working, here or abroad, because husbands have become inutile, are irresponsible in performing their tasks as breadwinners or heads of the family.  Other women though prefer working rather than stay at home and be plain housewives specially if they earn more than their husbands do which leave the husbands as house husbands.  And there are husbands who are great at this - taking care of the children and doing house chores.

  7. It is stereotyping.  The husbands wished they had a more saleable profession as their wives do.

  8. It's very common. Filipino men would be the first  one to deny this but  this is so true. Where I am, there are many  married Filipna women, sending a big chunk of their   salaries to their families (children, husband and parents) back home.  My  filipina friends told me their husband is also working in the Philippines but I know they are just embarrased to admit that  their husband is just a stay at home husband, waiting for the wife's hard-earned money every end of the month.  filipino men, majority of them were raised as mama's boys and many  lacked  ambition and the drive to succeed. So, yes, the women are generally   much better.

  9. Its common.  Not to suggest that everybody does that.  But, its pretty common.

  10. Uhm no.

It is stereotyping. Many filipino men are hardworking as well.
