Are Pleated Pants Ok?

My mom swears by pleated pants. She insists that pleated pants make her look slimmer. I've read a bunch online about how pleated pants are a major no-no. Is there any logic in this? Are flat fronted pants slimming? Help?!

No, pleated pants are not slimming which is one of the reasons why they went out of style a few years back.   Flat front pants are much more slimming.  With that being said, I did read a month or so ago that pleats were coming back in.  What a joke how they keep recycling the same stuff over and over again.

Just watch What not to Wear, and they will tell you. Pleated pants ARE a no no. They gather at the front which makes you look even bigger.

I think pleated pants do make you look thiner because everyone is looking at the line that is going down your leg, instead of your whole leg.... get it? also, pleated pants shows you take care of how you look. You dont just rush in the morning to throw things on. if pants can be made to have pleats in them, then do it. it makes your whole outfit more of a package.

pleated pants are NOT slimming.  All that fabric means extra bulk.  The most slimming pants are flat front side zip for sure.

I don't find pleated pants to be slimming or fashionable.

How old are you? I think the number one thing that pleated pants will do is make you look older than you are.

Take a look at some of these websites and you won't find any pants with pleats.
