Are Prenatal Vitamins Good For You If Not Pregnant?

I have really really thin hair almost like is balding. :( and it used to be veryy long. But just recently becuase my hair had so much breakage it became veryy short. (was 2 to 3 inches past my shoulders now its an inch above my shoulders in a matter of weeks.) Anyways I started using Pantene Beautiful Lengths which has made it very soft but hasnt really shown any growth.

So just recently like a couple days ago i started taking prenatal vitamins becuase i heard it makes your hair and nails grow fast. Is this true? I looked it up and some people said that its the pregnancy that does this and others said its the vitamins. Does any one know for sure? And is there anything i can do to help if grow faster and become thicker?

  1. Vitamins can help hair and nails grow and prenatal vitamins have extra of certain things that are good in pregnancy.  It probably wouldn't hurt on a short-term basis but I wouldn't take them for too long.  I think you may want to go see a doctor about your sudden and drastic change with your hair though.  You may have a medical issue that's causing your hair to suddenly start breaking off/balding.  That isn't normal, especially in that short of a time frame.  Also, no shampoo will help your hair grow regardless of what it claims.  The most it could do is make your hair slightly more resistant to breakage.  Rogaine for women can help regrow hair in some individuals...it doesn't work on everyone and you'd want to ask a doctor first before you start using it.

  2. they just help your overall body with a boost of health.

Just stop dying your hair and heat on it.

  3. Well it's true the extra hormones from the pregnancy are what cause those to happen. The viatamins are just there to provide nourishment. Otherwise why would pregnant people take them (just to get soft hair and long fingernails) And also if your anorexic that can happen.
