Are QH's from Canada registered with the AQHA? Or is There a Different One?

I was just wondering, I might be buying a horse soon, and I wondered if a registered QH in Canada meant registered with the AQHA.

  1. I lease an QH. (Great horses) I would say yes. It's an association so I don't think they would have two AQHA because they all have to be registered in the same place I assume. Call the AQHA or visit the website!

AQHA horses in Canada are registered through the exact same registry, and in the exact same process as horses in the U.S.  Papers are idential and are transfered from a Canadian to an Americian exactly the same way you normally would transfer paperes.  The only difference is - we have to pay in Americian funds, and we have some charges slightly higher (example, to subscribe to the magazine, etc)  This is also true for APHA and many other registries.
