Those skates are my dream skates... for now anyways... The price pretty much killed it... but even if I had enough, are they worth buying?

  1. Go with the old workhorse...GRAFS.

  2. sure. i found with skates that the more you pay the more you get out of them, well at least for me. i dont like breakin my skates in for like 2 seasons so i buy them pretty expensive but they last like a LONG time... well my ovechkin ones, the vector 10.0... but if ya like the pumps i say go for it

  3. Great skates if you like and are used to RBK/CCM last, pitch and overall fit.

If you prefer a Bauer fit, however, a 9K means little. I got a pair of pro stock 9K's, was very excited to skate them and quickly discovered the last was too sloppy, the pitch too forward and the overall fit made me feel like Bambi on ice.

I then went into my pocket for a pair of Supreme 70's (Bauer's 2nd price point) and was in heaven. It felt familiar, my stride worked and I wasn't wobbling and washing out.

Moral of the story is that it's all about fit. The RBK's were terrific skates but, just NOT FOR ME. They'll be on ebay soon if you're a size 9 D and are an RBK/CCM guy. LOL

  4. I don't think they're worth it.  I don't even know what the advantages are, to me they just seem like a diamond peep stud.  Looks fancy but no real point.
